Tribute and reflection on death of my grand mother

TRIBUTE AND REFLECTION ON THE DEATH OF MY LOVELY GRAND MOTHER
I think about death as an imagination but at times, it dawn on me that it is fact that cannot be exonerated. The case of my maternal grand mother-Mrs. Anna Oguanaobi, Aunty Cecilia Ohagba and now My paternal grand mother was able to give me a clear knowledge of this life. It is very much true.
Despite the fact that death is not experienced twice but from one’s death we see how it used to be. Sometimes I ask myself “could I ever run away from death in this life? It is a question beyond my reasoning for I can’t really fashion out where my consciousness will ever be. The facts from the gathering of my religious update confirm the greater possibility of dying out of this world. It is very difficult to say that this life is not the end. This life I heard does not end here. It continues depending on the place one chooses to stay.
It is very difficult to accept this life after death. Could it that after death, another life and probably there will be end of that life for “everything that has beginning will have an end”. The Bible put a maximum opposition to it when it says “at the time of this life, death is swallowed up by victory’. (1 Corinthian 15:54)
My lovely grand mum had lived a very long purposeful life on earth and now he had returned to the dust from which we are made. I was with my grand mother before left for school program on 31st December, 2009 and on returning on 2nd January, 2010 saw her on a critical condition. And about 3rd January, she left the world for a better place of eternal life where we would meet as triumphant people. I would join the scripture to say that “the upright though she dies will find rest, having won God’s favor; she has been loved and, as he was living among sinners, has been taken away. She has been carried of so that evil may not warp her understanding or deceitfulness seduces her soul. The people see the end of the wise without understanding what the lord has in store or why he has taken such a one to safety.” (cf Wisdom 4:7-16).
Consequently, the world fears death so much because:
i. It will break them up with mundane pleasure in the world.
ii. Unpreparedness of the body and spirit.

One who hates the activities of the world always prays for his demise from the world. Pleasure say to se bring forth unprepared mind and spirit of man. When one is entangled with the spirit of fresh, he does not pray for death for it is the interruption of his daily enjoyment. Therefore in order to be aware of death let us break up completely with the world and find fulfillment in spiritual matters and also always be prepared to meet death at all time.
Finally, it is very unpleasing and painful to see the demise of my lovely grand mum, but the lord God the best for her. Therefore, let our heart be quiet and gentle as we pray earnestly for the happy repose of her soul.
Good bye to the land of peace as we will again in the everlasting king of our lord!!! I love you but God loves you best.
STANLEY OBI, YOUR GRAND SON
